Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich have begun negotiating with Chelsea over the potential signing of defender Trevor Chalobah.
The 24-year-old is interested in a move to the Bundesliga and Bayern have begun negotiating for Chalobah as the transfer deadline approaches at the end of the week. Coach Thomas Tuchel is pushing to sign the defender that he worked with during his time at Chelsea.
Although Chalobah is currently out with a thigh injury, it is reportedly not that serious and the defender could return soon.
Chalobah is likely to be the replacement for Benjamin Pavard who is pushing for a move to Inter Milan. The other alternative to Chalobah was AC Milan’s Pierre Kalulu. Bayern had contacted the representatives of Kalulu but a transfer is very unlikely as Milan would like to keep the Frenchman.
Bayern are likely to be very active in the final days of the transfer window as they try and source a replacement for Pavard as well as try and complete the signing of a defensive midfielder. Tuchel has been pushing for a ‘number six’ for the majority of the summer but Bayern have yet to make any signing and have even been linked with Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
