Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez

As reported via Bild, Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez.

It is understood that Dortmund scouts were in attendance for the game between Ajax and Feyenoord on Sunday, which was abandoned just before the hour mark due to protests from the Ajax fans. However, Giménez had already scored twice, before completing his hat trick when the games resumed on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, Dortmund do face competition from a number of Premier League sides for the Agentinian-born Mexican international. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are a few clubs to have shown interest in the striker, and with his contract not due to expire until the summer of 2027, BvB could struggle to financially compete with their English counterparts.

Last season, Giménez scored 23 goals and collected three assists during his first season in the Netherlands. So far this campaign, the 22-year-old has managed eleven goal involvements in just six games, highlighting why his stock is so high.

Despite this, with a plethora of attacking options at Edin Terzić’s disposal, whether BvB require further reinforcement in the final third is certainly up for debate. However, with Liverpool showing interest in Donyell Malen, Dortmund could be looking at Giménez as the Dutchman’s replacement.
