Bayern Munich in no rush to appoint new sporting director

Following the perhaps surprise dismissal of Hasan Salihamidžić in May, Bayern Munich are in no rush to appoint a new sporting director with the Rekordmeister currently enjoying an excellent transfer window.

As reported by Kicker, the club are happy to work with the current transfer committee which comprises of: CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, his predecessor and supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, president Herbert Hainer, honorary president Uli Hoeneß, head coach Thomas Tuchel, technical director Marco Neppe and CFO Michael Diederich.

So far, Bayern Munich have signed Raphaël Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer as free agents while Napoli’s Kim-Min jae is expected to follow after the club activated the South Korean’s €50m release clause. Bayern’s transfer committee are also working on bringing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane to the club and yesterday submitted a second offer of €80m plus add-ons for the England international, who has 12 months remaining on his Spurs deal.

Salihamidžić was dismissed in May alongside then CEO Oliver Kahn and according to Kicker, because a successor to Salihamidžić won’t have an effect on the current transfer window, they’re in no rush to appoint someone. What’s more, Max Eberl appears to be Bayern’s preferred candidate, but he’s currently tied to RB Leipzig.
