Bayern Munich are in advanced talks with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Talks between both parties are going well and the English international is keen to join Bayern. Head coach Thomas Tuchel is said to be the main driver behind the transfer and convinced the right-back to join the club.
Though there are no final agreements between Walker and Bayern, both parties are optimistic a deal can be finalised in the near future.
This transfer also opens the exit door for players such as Benjamin Pavard who currently is willing to extend his contract beyond 2024. Walker would likely come in as a starting right back in front of Noussair Mazraoui and Josip Stanišić next season.
Perhaps another factor in the somewhat easy nature of this transfer was Pep Guardiola’s ties to Bayern having coached them between 2013-2016. Pep enjoyed great success at Bayern winning three Bundesliga titles, two DFB Pokals, and a FIFA Club World Cup.
