Bayern Munich eye Fulham’s João Palhinha

Bayern Munich are continuing to work to sign a new No. 6 before the transfer deadline and have no identified Fulham’s João Palhinha (28) as the ideal candidate, according to Bild.

This is further backed up by Kerry Hau of Sport1, who further adds that Bayern Munich are expected to make an offer in the next few hours. Interest in Palhinha comes following links with Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, while Tottenham’s Eric Dier was also offered to the club– with both players still topics at Bayern.

However, it would appear that Palhinha is now Bayern Munich’s preferred choice after initially missing out on Declan Rice in the early stages of the transfer window. As noted by our colleagues at FussballTransfers, Palhinha recorded the most successful tackles in the Premier League last season, ahead of Rice and Moises Caicedo.

It would however take a substantial fee before Fulham even consider selling Palhinha. The Portuguese international joined last summer for €20m and his valuation has likely tripled. With a contract until 2027, fellow Premier League side West Ham had a reported offer of £60m rejected.
