As reported by Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich could consider a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
With the understanding that Bayern could be without first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer until the new year, the Rekordmeister are left in a difficult position. Currently, Sven Ulreich is the club’s only solution to their goalkeeping woes and those in charge at the Säbener Straße believe an alternative needs to be acquired.
After dispelling multiple targets, Chelsea’s Spanish goalkeeper Kepa has caught the attention of the German champions. They consider the 28-year-old to be tried and tested at the highest level, which means he has the ability to become the club’s number one if Neuer fails to fully recover from his injury.
It is understood that Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel recommended the Spaniard due to the time they shared at Chelsea. Bayern have also begun speaking to Kepa’s management as well as Chelsea’s representatives regarding a possible move.
The Rekordmeister are hoping to strike an initial loan deal for the 28-year-old, which could be favourable with the English side as they look to downsize their significantly large squad. Bayern have also had their eyes set on Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, however, the Spanish side will not loan out the Moroccan under any circumstance, with a permanent deal the only option.
