Bayer Leverkusen could place a second bid for Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart

As reported by Patrick Berger of Sport1, Bayer Leverkusen want Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart.

After their attempts to sign left wing-back Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano fell through, Leverkusen have set their sights on Stuttgart’s Sosa. The reason behind Leverkusen’s failure to sign Garcia is Real Madrid. The club are close to activating García’s €10m buy option, as reported via our colleagues at Get Spanish Football News, and will pay €5m for the 23-year-old as they hold a 50 per cent sell-on clause on the player, who joined Rayo Vallecano from Los Blancos in the summer of 2021.

B04 submitted a bid of €10m for the Sosa but it was quickly rejected by Stuttgart. However, it’s likely that Leverkusen will submit a new and improved offer on transfer deadline day in the hopes of securing the player. Stuttgart demand at least €15m for the Croatian international.

Should Die Werkself meet the demands of Stuttgart, there could be a last-minute deal on the cards here. With just under 24 hours to go, the clock is ticking.

Sosa is yet to feature in 2023 and has just returned to training following an adductor injury.
