Ansgar Knauff to Eintracht Frankfurt is a done deal

As reported by Patrick Berger, Ansgar Knauff to Eintracht Frankfurt is a done deal.

The winger has spent the last year on loan at The Eagles from Borussia Dortmund. Frankfurt have now opted to make the move permanent and will pay around €4m-€5m plus bonuses for the 21-year-old.

The German U21 international is expected to sign a long-term contract with Frankfurt with the move officially being announced in the coming days.

Knauff was used mainly as a wingback under Oliver Glasner either on the left or on the right. Last season, Knauff played a key role in Frankfurt’s run to winning the Europa League scoring in the semi-final against West Ham.

With Glasner having officially left the club, whoever comes in will have a versatile youngster with plenty of potential.

As for Dortmund, they already have plenty of depth to fill the positions Knauff plays. All around, the deal seems to make sense for everyone involved.
