Alphonso Davies resumes light training

Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies (22) resumed training on Monday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury against Mainz at the end of April.

Noussair Mazraoui replaced Davies after just nine minutes in Bayern’s 3-1 defeat against Mainz and although the Canadian has resumed running training, it’s extremely unlikely he will play again this season with just two games remaining.

In the Canadian’s absence, Joao Cancelo has operated at left-back with Mazraoui coming in at right-back.

Davies has played 38 games across all competitions this season, scoring two and creating eight. His 316 minutes across six games under Thomas Tuchel has so far yet to yield any goal contributions.

With just two games remaining, Bayern Munich find themselves one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Tuchel’s side host RB Leipzig at the weekend before a trip to Köln on the final day of the season.

Edin Terzic’s Dortmund will travel to Augsburg before hosting Mainz.
