Wolfsburg agreement with Omar Marmoush a long way off

As reported by Kicker, Wolfsburg and Omar Marmoush are a long way off when it comes to reaching an agreement regarding a contract extension at the Bundesliga club.

The 23-year-old’s current deal expires in 2023 and although talks broke down in the summer, discussions resumed but are currently far from being close to reaching an agreement. Per the report, it comes down to a question of finances. The demands the Egyptian and his consulting agency are asking is a figure that is an enormous hurdle for VfL.

Wolfsburg does recognise the development and potential of Marmoush, who one day dreams of playing in the Premier League but with five goals and five assists in 44 Bundesliga games for Wolfsburg and Stuttgart, VfL’s valuation doesn’t correspond with the salary that Marmoush is wanting.

In the summer, Wolfsburg vetoed a move from Brentford and Marmoush also wasn’t short on offers. Entering the final six months of his contract, it’s important that VfL tie him down to a new deal or risk losing the attacker on a free.
