Serge Gnabry: “It was an important signal of intent.”

Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 5-0 win against Freiburg, Serge Gnabry, who opened the scoring on Sunday afternoon, discussed his team’s performance as they close the gap to Union Berlin to four points.

“It felt very good to produce a performance like that. It was an important signal of intent from us after a few tough weeks – and this is how we want to carry on now. We want to win every one of our games now,” said Gnabry. “We dropped a few points unnecessarily, so we know the pressure is on. We want to pick up every available point up until the World Cup.”

Gnabry opened the scoring with a bullet header after 13 minutes before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting doubled Bayern’s lead. Quickfire goals from Leroy Sané and Sadio Mané then put Julian Nagelsmann’s side in a comfortable position before Marcel Sabitzer completed the rout in the 80th minute.
