Serbia’s World Cup squad contains plenty of Bundesliga experience

Serbia has published their squad for the upcoming World Cup and it includes plenty of Bundesliga experience. In a tricky Group G containing Brazil, Cameroon, and Switzerland, the team is going to have to rely heavily on this if they are to progress into the knockout rounds.

Head coach Dragan Stojković has named Werder Bremen centre-back Miloš Veljković despite the player currently struggling with an Achilles tendon issue. Also nominated are ex-Hertha Berlin players Marko Grujić (FC Porto) and Nemanja Radonjić (FC Torino), former Eintracht Frankfurt stars Luka Jović (Fiorentina), Filip Kostić (Juventus), as well as top scorer Dusan Vlahović (Juventus). Other Serbs participating from Italy include Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić.

With plenty of experience in their ranks, Serbia are more than capable of causing an upset and finishing in second place behind Brazil who will be expected to finish top on 9 points.

Serbia begin their World Cup campaign on November 24th against favourites Brazil before playing Cameroon and finally Switzerland.
