Official | Sven Ulreich extends contract at Bayern Munich

Sven Ulreich has extended his stay with Bayern Munich, the club have confirmed today. The 32-year-old’s contract was due to run out at the end of this season but has now been extended to the end of 2024.

Ulreich has featured between the sticks more times this season than many would have anticipated due to Manuel Neuer’s injury. Already, the veteran has made 8 appearances. He has stepped up to the plate and helped his side get back to the top of the Bundesliga table and safely through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Hasan Salihamidžić praised the goalkeeper and welcomed the contract extension: “This contract extension expresses the sporting importance that Sven has for our team. He was and is always support when needed, including in the dressing room. It is also important for us that he has been very well coordinated with Manuel Neuer in our goalkeepers’ training group for years.”

Once a regular at VfB Stuttgart, Ulreich is happy to support his colleagues and in particular, Neuer: “I’m very happy to stay at FC Bayern. The cooperation with the whole team and especially with Manuel Neuer has grown into something special over many years, we are perfectly coordinated and I really enjoy my job.”
