Predicted Bayern Munich lineup vs Schalke 04

Bayern Munich are once again sitting on top of the Bundesliga and coming off the back of an impressive 6-1 victory at home to Werder Bremen earlier this week. Julian Nagelsmann’s side will now hope to stay there and attempt to create a gap between themselves and the clubs below.

Bayern travel to Gelsenkirchen for the Saturday evening game and will be hoping for a similar scoreline that they inflicted on Tuesday. Schalke themselves got a much-needed win in the week when they saw off Mainz 05 to win 1-0. Despite the three points, S04 are currently bottom and will be praying to the football gods for good luck this weekend.

Team News

Bayern Munich will be without Sadio Mané for the upcoming fixture who is battling a leg injury to be fit for the World Cup. Despite the injury, Senegal are expected to still name the forward and hope he can make a full recovery in time. Also missing for this clash are Thomas Müller and Alphonso Davies who themselves are looking to get back to full fitness before their country’s opening games at the World Cup. Matthijs de Ligt should once again be available for selection having overcome a muscle strain. However, Benjamin Pavard could still keep his place as Nagelsmann may stick to a winning side.

Predicted lineup:

Neuer – Mazraoui, Pavard, Upamecano, Hernandez – Kimmich, Goretzka – Gnabry, Musiala, Coman – Choupo-Moting.
