Official | Borussia Dortmund appoint Armin Reutershahn as assistant coach

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the appointment of Armin Reutershahn as Edin Terzic’s new assistant coach after Peter Hermann stepped down due to health reasons.

Speaking to club media, Reutershahn said: “Borussia Dortmund are synonymous with football tradition and enormous enthusiasm. I’m really looking forward to BVB and working with head coach Edin Terzic, and I am sure that we’ll be speaking about a successful season come the end of the campaign.”

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl also spoke on the appointment: “Armin Reutershahn is a renowned and highly experienced football specialist who has worked alongside coaches like Julian Nagelsmann, Niko Kovac and Adi Hütter during his long career and has always striven for maximum success. We’re convinced that Armin Reutershahn will enrich our coaching staff with his skills and experience, and will help us to achieve our objectives for the season.”

Reutershahn will begin his new role on January 2 and has signed a contract until the end of the season. The 62-year-old was previously assistant to Adi Hütter during his spells at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt whilst also being assistant to Julian Nagelsmann when he first took over as TSG Hoffenheim manager.

Dortmund restart training on January 2 before flying to Marbella on the eighth for a week-long winter training camp. They will then begin the second half of the Bundesliga season at home to Augsburg on January 20. Dortmund are sixth in the Bundesliga, two points off of the Champions League places.
