Nottingham Forest in talks with Bayern Munich over Omar Richards deal

Nottingham Forest are in negotiations with Bayern Munich to sign Omar Richards, according to Florian Plettenberg

The left-back would cost Forest around €10m-12m if the deal were to materialise. However, Richards himself would have to agree to the move first before discussions about fees go any further.

Further talks are in place should the 24-year-old be open to making the switch to the newly-promoted Premier League side.

Richards joined Bayern last summer from Championship side Reading. Since then, the defender has struggled for first-team football and has only achieved 17 competitive appearances for the club.

At 24, Richards may want to play regular football, something that he’s found difficult when competing with Alphonso Davies. Should the player opt for a move, both clubs believe a deal could be made sooner rather than later.

He would also become the latest player to switch from the Bundesliga to Nottingham Forest after they confirmed the signing of Taiwo Awoniyi last week.

NFFC are also in advanced discussions to sign Moussa Niakhaté from Mainz.
