Marco Rose: “It’s about becoming consistent in terms of performance and results.”

Speaking at today’s presser ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Europa League clash against Rangers, head coach Marco Rose praised Gio van Bronckhorst’s side and discussed team selection.

“I want the best 11 players to be on the pitch, and that will be the case tomorrow,” said Rose. “We’ll see how fit the boys are. The team that we think is in the best shape will play tomorrow.”

Gio Reyna could return to the squad following sickness but Erling Haaland and Marius Wolf will both miss the tie. Emre Can is also suspended after his red cards against Sporting CP.

Discussing the threat that Rangers pose, Rose said: “We’re playing against a strong opponent in the play-off round and we have to do our jobs. For us, it’s about becoming more consistent in terms of our performances and results. If we can do that, we have a good team and could go very far.

“They’re a team that has physicality and speed, creates goals down the flanks, but can link up through the middle too. We want to play our own game. We want to control the match, be dominant and find solutions with the ball.”
