Manchester United and Ajax target Brian Brobbey has no future at RB Leipzig

Ajax and Manchester United target Brian Brobbey doesn’t have a sporting future at RB Leipzig, according to Bild.

The 20-year-old has spent the last six months on loan at Ajax and has a preference to join his former side, who are in negotiations with Leipzig regarding a possible transfer. But since then, its suggested that Manchester United could hijack Ajax’s move for Brobbey with Erik ten Hag already having a phone call with the Dutch attacker.

Leipzig are demanding a fee of around €15m for Brobbey but negotiations have been at a standstill for the past days. Meanwhile Brobbey is with the Leipzig squad at their Austria training camp preparing for the new season.

Assistant coach Andreas Hinkel said: “We treat him fairly as long as he is here. He can get fit, we take him with us and we are open with him. The clubs have to decide the rest.”

Brobbey and Ten Hag have previous experience working together. The 20-year-old played under Ten Hag during their time together at Ajax – Brobbey scored 13 goals and created three in 32 games across all competitions.

Per the report, if there is no agreement between Leipzig and either Ajax or Manchester United, then there’s a possibility that Brobbey could sit in the stands with a plethora of attacking talent ahead of the Dutchman at the Bundesliga club.
