Bayern Munich’s Malik Tillman (20) is currently undergoing a medical with Rangers, according to Kicker. The 20-year-old completed an individual training session on Wednesday afternoon to avoid a risk of injury.
Tillman, who now represents the US national team and has been awarded his first and second caps, will join Rangers on loan with an option to buy. Per the report, Bayern have also secured a buyback option.
The former German youth international operates as an attacking-midfielder and was awarded his Bundesliga debut by Julian Nagelsmann in December, a 5-0 win against Stuttgart. Tillman went on to play 102 minutes in the Bundesliga for Bayern last season, and has also featured 18 minutes in the Champions League.
Tilmann signed a contract extension with Bayern last summer until 2024 and in May, decided to represent the United States after featuring for Germany’s youth teams from the U15s to U21s. Tillman will collect match practise at Rangers to boost his chances ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
