Mainz 05 have reached an agreement with 23-year-old Japan international Ritsu Doan from Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, according to Bild.
However, M05 are yet to reach an agreement with PSV regarding a transfer fee but are expected to pay between €4m and €5m for Doan, who spent last season on loan at Arminia Bielefeld.
Negotiations between the parties have been ongoing with a departure in the summer looking increasingly likely with Mainz having shown an interest in signing the Japanese attacking-midfielder last summer.
Doan has played 22 games in all competitions for PSV this season, scoring seven and creating one.
