Karim Adeyemi sidelined for Borussia Dortmund’s game vs Freiburg

As first reported by Patrick Berger, Karim Adeyemi has not travelled with the Borussia Dortmund squad to Freiburg and will miss tonight’s Bundesliga game against Christian Streich’s side.

The 20-year-old was substituted after 23 minutes against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend with a foot injury. Adeyemi completed a fitness test on Wednesday but BVB’s game vs Freiburg game too soon.

Sébastien Haller, Niklas Süle, Gio Reyna and Mateu Morey are also sidelined whilst Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz didn’t travel. Summer arrival Salih Özcan is fit and has travelled to Freiburg.

As has Anthony Modeste, who joined Borussia Dortmund from FC Köln for around €5m earlier this week – the Frenchman comes on a one-year contract until 2023 as a replacement for Haller. Last season, the 34-year-old scored 20 goals in 32 Bundesliga games for FC Köln.

Borussia Dortmund’s squad that travelled to Freiburg: Kobel, Meyer – Schlotterbeck, Hummels, Coulibaly, Guerreiro, Meunier, Passlack – Can, Özcan, Bellingham, Dahoud, Brandt – Reus, Hazard, Wolf, Bynoe-Gittens, Malen, Moukoko, Modeste.
