Harry Kane is Bayern Munich’s number one target next summer

Tottenham Hotspur and England captain Harry Kane will be Bayern Munich’s number one transfer target next summer, according to Münchner Merkur and Florian Plettenberg

Last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Augsburg meant it was four games without a win for Bayern. The squad and in particular the forward line is becoming increasingly under pressure. It’s been argued that the team are missing an out-and-out number nine who can shield the ball, bring others into play, and most importantly score goals.

Referencing journalist Plettenberg, the report quotes the transfer expert’s words during the Football Daily podcast on BBC 5 Live.

Plettenberg announced that “discussions have already begun. He’s the number one transfer target.” He continued: “There was contact between Bayern and Charlie Kane (brother and advisor). Harry Kane can really, really imagine moving to Bayern.”

Kane has been at Spurs since he was a kid and has only ever left the club to go out on loan. However, since 2013, the forward has been a regular for his club side as well as for England. The prolific striker is also closing in on becoming his nation’s top goalscorer with plenty of games to spare. It would have to take a huge sum of money to get Kane’s signature. However, a chance to win trophies may also help in their attempts to sign the number nine.
