FC Köln looks set to make their first signing of the summer by claiming the signature of Hannover 96 winger Linton Maina, according to Bild.
More positive news for Köln fans is that the highly-rated 22-year-old will join on a free transfer when his contract runs out this summer.
Though the deal is not official yet, it’s reported that Maina has verbally agreed to the move as he wishes to take the next step in his career.
The U20 Germany international has been hit by injuries in recent months which has stopped him from progressing as he’d wished.
However, with Köln playing more games next season due to European commitments, it could be a great move for both parties. So far this season, Maina has scored four goals and provided one assist in 26 league appearances.
