Eintracht Frankfurt’s chief scout set to join Watford

According to Kicker, Eintracht Frankfurt chief scout Ben Manga is set to join Watford FC in the Championship.

The 48-year-old scout will join Watford and become their director of football. Manga has been operating as The Eagles’ chief scout since 2016 and has discovered talents such as Evan Ndicka, Tuta, Luka Jovic and Omar Mascarell. Such finds enabled Frankfurt to move into a new economic sphere as they went on to win the DFB Cup in 2018 and the Europa League last summer.

Currently, Manga is under contract at Frankfurt until 2026. However, under sporting director Markus Krösche, Manga has lost more of his influence and importance at the club.

Watford are well-known in England for changing managers and positions within the club. Since Italian businessman Gino Pozzo took control of the club in 2015, there has been a total of 19 head coaches at Watford which has led them to promotion and relation from the Premier League.

Watford are currently 7th in the Championship and under the watch of Slaven Bilic who himself has Bundesliga experience.
