Chidera Ejuke set to join Hertha Berlin

After administrative issues delayed Chidera Ejuke’s arrival in Berlin, the 24-year-old Nigerian winger is in the German capital to undergo the obligatory medical check before joining Hertha Berlin on loan without an option to buy, according to Kicker.

Ejuke’s delayed arrival was due to the player awaiting his visa from the German embassy in Moscow. Upon completion of the medical, Ejuke will then travel to Hertha’s training camp in Burton-upon-Trent, where he will meet his new teammates. Joining from CSKA Moscow, the Nigerian made use of the new FIFA regulations that allow players in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contracts.

Hertha Berlin appointed Sandro Schwarz as head coach last month but have been relatively quiet in the transfer window. Filip Uremović and Jonjoe Kenny arrived on free transfers whilst Ivan Šunjić has joined the Bundesliga club on loan from Birmingham City. We could also see up to seven players departing Hertha this summer should they receive suitable offers for Krzysztof Piątek and others.
