Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to undergo a medical with Bayer Leverkusen on Monday afternoon ahead of joining the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan, according to Sky Germany.
The 21-year-old Englishman has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in recent years but is now expected to complete a move to the BayArena.
It was reported on Wednesday last week that Bayer Leverkusen were working on a deal to sign Hudson-Odoi after their move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk fell through.
Die Werkself have had a relatively quiet transfer window, signing Adam Hlozek (19) from Sparta Prague for €13m. B04 wanted to sign another winger and had been in discussions with both Mudryk and Manchester City’s Samuel Edozie, but have settled for Hudson-Odoi.
The Englishman will provide competition for Hlozek, whom Gerado Seoane has a preference to play centrally, whilst both Amine Adli and Karim Bellarabi are both sidelined with injuries.
Although a quiet summer, B04 could also target a No. 6 before Thursday’s deadline.
