Bayer Leverkusen working on deal to sign Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bayer Leverkusen are working on a deal to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi (21) from Chelsea on loan after their move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk fell through, according to Kicker.

Per reports from England, Hudson-Odoi has already chosen Bayer Leverkusen as his next club. The England international missed training on Tuesday which has increased speculation of a departure before September 1. Reported further by Kicker, Hudson-Odoi could complete a move before Saturday’s game vs Mainz.

Mudryk (21) was Bayer Leverkusen’s primary candidate and had even reached an agreement with the Ukrainian club and player. However, Shakhtar did a U-turn upon hearing of interest from Premier League clubs and OGC Nice, and therefore commanding an increased offer from B04.

Hudson-Odoi would provide competition for Adam Hlozek, whom is better off playing centrally, whilst both Amine Adli and Karim Bellarabi are both sidelined with injuries.

After three successive defeats to start their Bundesliga campaign, Bayer Leverkusen want to sign an attacking player before the transfer deadline. Throughout summer, Manchester City’s Samuel Edozie (19) is another name that is linked to Die Werkself.
