BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke on Karim Adeyemi: “We would try and get it done without a release clause.”

Speaking on 19:09 der schwarzgelbe Talk, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke gave an update on their interest in 20-year-old German forward Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg.

“If he came, we would try and get it done without a release clause but I won’t give a status report. We’re not under any pressure. I think the player has more or less conveyed the feeling that he wants to join BVB. We have to manage that somehow,” said Watzke.

Both Kicker and Sport1 reported last week that Adeyemi’s move to Borussia Dortmund is imminent. Per the report, BVB will pay €38m plus a further €3m in add-ons for the Germany international, who will sign a five-year contract.

Adeyemi has scored 17 and created three in 26 league games for RB Salzburg this season.
