Bundesliga Predictions | Round 28

In this new weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Stefan’s game of the week: Borussia Dortmund v RB Leipzig – Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig will be meeting in what should be an enticing Topspiel at a jam-packed Westfalenstadion. Traditionally the pressure would be on Marco Rose and his far from convincing side, but it’s RB Leipzig that desperately need all three points to stay in the race for a top four finish. As such, we should see two teams that will be throwing everything they’ve got towards picking up all three points.

Manu’s game of the week: Freiburg v Bayern Munich – Hard to pick between Freiburg vs Bayern or Dortmund vs Leipzig. Both are genuine top games. But as Stefan has picked Dortmund vs Leipzig I will go with Freiburg against Bayern. And I do think this will be an intriguing matchup. Out of 43 attempts, Freiburg have beaten Bayern just four times in the Bundesliga. But all those wins came at home and the Breisgau Brasilianer will be playing at their new stadium at full capacity for the first time, the atmosphere will be spectacular and it just feels like they can pull off something special and steal a point from the Rekordmeister.

Stefan’s full predictions:

Union Berlin 1-1 Koln
Freiburg 2-3 Bayern Munich
Leverkusen 2-1 Hertha Berlin
Bielefeld 0-2 Stuttgart
Frankfurt 2-0 Greuther Furth
Hoffenheim 3-0 Bochum
Dortmund 3-2 RB Leipzig
Augsburg 1-2 Wolfsburg
Gladbach 1-0 Mainz
