Bundesliga Predictions | Round 11 – Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen host Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich face an in-form Hoffenheim

In this weekly feature, hosts of the Gegenpressing podcast Stefan Bienkowski and Manu Veth face off with their predictions for the forthcoming Bundesliga matchday fixtures. It’s three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Manu’s Game of the Week: Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich

I think this one will have goals. Hoffenheim have been sneakily good all season and the Rekordmeister mid-week in the Pokal showed that they can be leaky. Also keep an eye on Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, he has become Bayern’s answer to the No. 9 debate and on current form could decide this game.

Manu’s Predictions:

  • Mainz 2-2 FC Köln
  • Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Stuttgart
  • Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Wolfsburg
  • Freiburg 2-1 Werder Bremen
  • Hoffenheim 2-4 Bayern Munich
  • Augsburg 0-3 RB Leipzig
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Bochum 0-2 Union Berlin
  • Hertha Berlin 2-0 Schalke

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg

Slowly but surely, Wolfsburg are picking up pace under Niko Kovac and that front line of Lukas Nmecha, Patrick Wimmer and Jakub Kaminski is one that is just full of promise and attacking talent. The Wolves have been creating more and more chances in recent weeks and they’ll surely be licking their lips at the prospect of taking advantage of a Bayer Leverkusen side that are still struggling under new manager Xabi Alonso.

Stefan’s Predictions:

  • Mainz 1-0 FC Köln
  • Augsburg 1-3 RB Leipzig
  • Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 Wolfsburg
  • Borussia Dortmund 2-2 Stuttgart
  • Freiburg 2-1 Werder Bremen
  • Hoffenheim 2-2 Bayern Munich
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Bochum 0-2 Union Berlin
  • Hertha Berlin 2-0 Schalke

Scores after MD10Manu – 49, Stefan – 35.
