Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastian Kehl expecting a lot of activity before transfer deadline day

Borussia Dortmund sports director Sebastian Kehl is preparing for a “wild ride” before next Wednesday’s transfer deadline day, according to Kicker

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Kehl admitted that he is already getting ready for a frantic end to the window.

The 42-year-old explained: “From Monday there will be another wild ride.”

Though not only talking about just his club, he also pointed to the situation regarding both Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz.

Should BVB fail to sell Akanji before the deadline, they would be willing to extend his contract by one year until 2023 and let him go out on loan.

With Schulz, Dortmund have been open to a sale for some time and would not put any obstacles in the way of the player leaving the club.

Then there is the situation regarding Thomas Meunier who is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time.

Despite this, BVB coach Edin Terzić said: “It’s not our plan to give up on Thomas Meunier.”

Meunier has been surplus to requirements with Marius Wolf preferred in the right-back role.
