Borussia Dortmund receive Gio Reyna boost ahead of Champions League game against Manchester City

Speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League game against Manchester City on Tuesday night, Edin Terzic gave an update on the personnel situation.

“With Marco Reus, it’s a matter of days,” said Terzic. “His commitment is still in the balance.”

Reus suffered an ankle injury in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win against Schalke in the Revierderby and made a 45 minute comeback against Union Berlin on Sunday 16, which was seemingly too soon. The 33-year-old missed BVB’s last two games against Hannover and Stuttgart.

Borussia Dortmund will also be without Salih Özcan after he picked up his third yellow card of the competition against Sevilla last matchday, suspending him for tomorrow’s game

After missing the game against Stuttgart because of a cold, Donyell Malen could return whilst Nico Schlotterbeck, Mats Hummels and Raphael Guerreiro are also expected to feature. Gio Reyna has also signalled to Terzic that he’s ready for tomorrow’s game against Manchester City following a recent injury.

“This clarity in ball possession, Gio is really good at it,” said Terzic. “It’s something we know about him and wish he could show it often. Now he signals to us that he’s completely fresh and ready for action tomorrow.”
