Bayern Munich want Alexander Nübel clarity this week

According to a report by Kicker, Bayern Munich want to know if Alexander Nübel is willing to cut his loan at Monaco short to replace the injured Manuel Neuer by the end of this week.

The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with his parent club since Neuer broke his leg in a skiing accident a few weeks ago. The 26-year-old has always made it clear that he will not return if he is only going to be a temporary solution until Neuer is back.

Other issues include the loanee ruling out a return to Bayern if goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalović is still at the club.

Despite links to other keepers including Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Yann Sommer, Kicker reports that the champions have not made contact with any other candidate. Speaking to Sky Germany, Nübel’s advisor Stefan Backs confirmed: “Yes, Bayern want to bring Alexander back and have informed me about it.”

Bayern want a final answer by the end of this week in order to put the matter behind them. Should Nübel rule out a return, they will have to look into the transfer market in January.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg further adds that Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Yann Sommer remains Bayern Munich’s top candidate to replace Neuer should they not find an agreement with AS Monaco for Nübel.
