Bayern Munich optimistic about signing Konrad Laimer

Bayern Munich remain optimistic about their chances of signing Konrad Laimer (25) from RB Leipzig this summer, according to Sport Bild. Julian Nagelsmann, who sees the Austrian midfielder as the player to complete his midfield, wants to sign his former player this summer.

Laimer has entered the final year of his contract with Leipzig and has already reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich. However, Leipzig have already rejected two offers from Bayern Munich, rejecting their latest offer of €23m including bonuses. Domenico Tedesco’s side value Laimer at €30m and aren’t against the idea of keeping the Austrian and allowing him to depart on a free transfer in 2023.

Leipzig have internally set of a deadline of July 30, the day of the DFL Supercup. If Bayern Munich haven’t reached an agreement by then, it’s likely that Laimer will remain at Leipzig this season.

Should Bayern Munich sign Laimer, that will take their summer spending, including bonuses, above €200m: Matthijs de Ligt (€67m plus €10m), Sadio Mané (€32m plus €9m), Mathys Tel (20m plus €8.5), Ryan Gravenberch (18.5m plus €5.5) and Noussair Mazraoui (Free).
