RB Leipzig reject second Bayern Munich offer for Konrad Laimer

RB Leipzig have rejected a second offer from Bayern Munich for Konrad Laimer, according to Bild. Bayern’s first offer of almost €20m was rebuffed which resulted in a second bid of a reported €23m including bonuses, a fee that still falls short of Leipzig’s €30m asking price.

Discussions between the two clubs are ongoing but Leipzig remain adamant that Laimer won’t leave for lower than their €30m valuation, even if it means losing the Austrian midfielder on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires. Per several reports, Laimer has reached a verbal agreement to join Bayern Munich and if not this summer, then certainly in 2023.

Leipzig have set an internal deadline of July 30, when they play Bayern Munich in the DFL Supercup. Bayern are even more interested in doing a deal following Leon Goretzka’s knee surgery, which could keep the Germany international sidelined for around two months.

Laimer played 43 games in all competitions last season.
