Bayern Munich in talks with Ajax defender Jurrien Timber

Bayern Munich have held loose talks with representatives of 20-year-old Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, according to Sky Germany.

Bayern’s squad planners, led by Technical Director Marco Neppe, enquired about Timber’s situation.

The Netherlands international has a contract until 2024 and has played 41 games in all competitions for Ajax this season.

Current Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal believes Timber would be a player that fits Bayern.

A central defender is on the agenda of Bayern bosses after losing Niklas Süle and missing out on Antonio Rüdiger, who is likely to join Real Madrid, and Nico Schlotterbeck, who confirmed a move to Borussia Dortmund on Monday.
