Barcelona interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada

FC Barcelona are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt and Japanese international Daichi Kamada, according to Frankfurter Rundschau

Italian media outlets had also reported that Borussia Dortmund had an agreement in place for the 26-year-old, however, as reported by Sport1 and Sky Germany, Daichi Kamada has not began negotiations with BVB.

Kamada’s contract with Frankfurt is up in the summer and it is unlikely that he will sign a new contract. Sport1 are also reporting that Kamada is preferring a move abroad and has been linked to clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur in the past.

A move abroad would put Barcelona in a great position to sign an impressive international on a free transfer. The 26-year-old played in all four of Japan’s games at the World Cup as his team were knocked out at the Round of 16 stage against Croatia.

Kamada joined Frankfurt in 2017 from Sagan Tosu in Japan for €1.6m and has made 150 appearances for them in that time and was key in their run to winning the Europa League last season. This season, Kamada already has 12 goals and four assists in 26 appearances. His goal tally in the league is already his best ever with Frankfurt.
