Anthony Modeste could feature for Borussia Dortmund against Freiburg

Speaking ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga game against Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzić hinted that Anthony Modeste could be given his BVB debut.

“He looks very fit and hungry and is therefore a very good option for Friday,” said Terzić. “We hope that he will continue to do the things he has done in recent years and play a similar role for us as he did in Köln. I don’t think it will be very hard for him to fit into our team.”

Modeste joined from FC Köln for a reported €5m as a replacement for Sebastién Haller, who is out for the foreseeable after undergoing surgery to remove a testicular tumour.

Both Niklas Süle and Haller are unavailable and Salih Özcan completed team training on Tuesday morning before further individual training in the afternoon. Injured against Bayer Leverkusen, Karim Adeyemi also faces a fitness test on Wednesday before deciding whether he can partake in training.
