Amine Harit released from Schalke training camp to negotiate departure

Amine Harit is nearing a transfer away from Schalke. According to Sport1’s Patrick Berger, the Bundesliga have released the 25-year-old from their training camp in Austria for discussions with an unnamed club.

The Morocco international has two-years remaining on his current S04 deal. Harit returned to training this week, alongside Ozan Kabak, as the duo were given an extended leave of absence to negotiate their transfer away from the Royal Blues, who want around €10m for the attacking-midfielder.

Released for talks with an unnamed club, S04 sporting director Rouven Schroder and continuously made it clear that the newly-promoted Bundesliga side, now coached by Frank Kramer, plan to go into the 2022/23 season without the player, who has an estimated salary of €5m.

Harit spent last season on loan at Marseille, where he scored four and created four in 23 Ligue 1 games. Joining Schalke from Nantes in 2017 for €8m, Harit played 118 games across all competitions, scoring 13 and creating 23.
