Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry return to Bayern Munich training

Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry returned to Bayern Munich on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s Bundesliga game against Freiburg. According to BILD, Davies (21) is a candidate to return to the starting XI again.

Both players picked up injuries in Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund last weekend. Davies was forced off after receiving a kick to the head from Jude Bellingham, Bayern later confirmed the Canada international suffered a cranial bruise. Gnabry was also substituted with a knee injury.

Davies and Gnabry completed 45 minutes of training on Thursday morning. A problem though is Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutchman missed Bayern’s Champions League win against Viktoria Plzeň. De Ligt trained this morning but stopped after 20 minutes.

Manuel Neuer still has a shoulder problem and Jamal Musiala is quarantining after testing positive for Covid-19. Against Freiburg, Bayern will be without Kingsley Coman after the Frenchman was sent off against Dortmund.
