Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League game against Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday evening, the Bundesliga club confirm that Jamal Musiala has tested positive for Covid-19.
Musiala’s positive result in the latest of several at Bayern. Whilst on international duty with Germany, Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka tested positive for the infection but have since returned. The following week both Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller tested positive and now Musiala, who featured in the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Kimmich also returned in Der Klassiker at the weekend but only made a brief substitute appearance. Müller still had cold symptoms and so missed the game, but returned to training on Sunday morning as Julian Nagelsmann’s side prepare for their Champions League clash in Pilsen.
Bayern Munich will also likely be without Alphonso Davies who has a cranial bruise following a kick in the head from Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as the two competed for a loose ball.
