Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Manchester United) to sign Bayer Leverkusen contract until 2024

According to Sky Germany, Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has arrived in Germany and will undergo a medical with Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days ahead of a move believed to be worth around €2 million.

The Dutchman will undergo his medical after quarantining and has agreed to sign a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2024.

Fosu-Mensah has just six months remaining on his contract with Manchester United and had also attracted interest from Dutch club Ajax – the 23-year-old instead opting for Bayer Leverkusen.

Fosu-Mensah will provide cover for Lars Bender – who is currently out injured – and will also add further competition in defence. His arrival may also see the departure of 26-year-old Mitchell Weiser on loan with Schalke 04 showing keen interest in the German right-back.

Fosu-Mensah has played just 108 minutes of football this season and has played just nine games in all competitions under Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
