Bundesliga side Schalke 04 have sent 20-year-old striker Ahmed Kutucu on loan to Dutch side Heracles Almelo for the remainder of the season.
“Ahmed wants more playing time, also with a view to the European championship this summer” said sporting director Jochen Schneider. “In Almelo, he has a great probability of playing.”
S04 prefer 19-year-old striker Matthew Hoppe – who has scored five Bundesliga goals in seven games – to Kutucu and have also announced the signing of 37-year-old striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on a six-month contract.
Kutucu made his Schalke debut in December 2018 and has played 52 games in all competitions for the Royal Blues, scoring six and creating four.
The 20-year-old will play under German head coach Frank Wormuth at Heracles Almelo.
