Hertha Berlin have made an enquiry to sign Atalanta forward Papu Gómez, who would be allowed to leave the Italian club during the current transfer window, according to Kicker.
Gómez has fallen out with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini and would be allowed to depart the club with 18 months remaining on his contract. The 32-year-old has also garnered interest from fellow Serie A side AC Milan and Turkish club Trabzonspor.
The Bundesliga side are in the market for an attacking-midfielder and have also identified Julian Draxler (PSG) as a potential candidate for a transfer. Hertha BSC showed an interest in signing the Germany international during the summer transfer window but a deal failed to materialise.
Draxler has played just 465 minutes of football for PSG this season and although missing several games with a hamstring injury, it’s likely that the 27-year-old will leave the club following the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.
Germany head coach Joachim Löw advised Draxler to leave the French champions in the summer if he wants to play for the national team at the European championship this summer.
