Nadiem Amiri accepts apology from Union Berlin player after alleged racism

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri has accepted the apology from a Union Berlin player following an alleged racial incident after Leverkusen’s 1-0 defeat at Union.

“He came to me in the dressing room. Unpleasant words were used in the heat of the moment, which he greatly regrets. He assured me of that very convincingly. For me, the issue is dealt with,” said Amiri.

According to defender Jonathan Tah, Amiri was called a “s***** Afghan.”
