Leon Dajaku (Bayern Munich) to join Union Berlin, pending medical

Union Berlin sporting director Oliver Ruhnert has confirmed that 19-year-old Bayern Munich forward Leon Dajaku will join the club, subject to a medical.

“If he passes the medical check, he will join us tomorrow,” Ruhnert told Bild. “His main position was always central and up front but last season at Bayern he also played outside. He is an all-rounder.”

AC Milan, Nice and fellow Bundesliga side FC Köln has all shown an interest in signing the German, who is now expected to join Union Berlin permanently, rather than on loan.

Dajaku has played 14 games for Bayern Munich II in the 3. Liga this season, scoring three and creating one. He has also played 39 minutes of first team football for Bayern Munich since his €1.5 million transfer from VfB Stuttgart in 2019.

The German youth international will add further depth to Union Berlin’s attack and will be a welcomed addition given the recent injury to winger Sheraldo Becker, picked up in Union Berlin’s 1-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night.
