Milan interested in Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch

Kicker report that Italian side AC Milan are interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch with just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

Fellow Serie A side Napoli had also shown an interest in signing the Austria international but they’re seemingly unable to meet Hoffenheim’s valuation whilst Milan are capable of paying a transfer fee in the low double-digit million.

“At the moment, I am assuming that he is part of the team. I have no signals in the other direction,” said TSG head coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Grillitsch could of course remain at Hoffenheim but they lose the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer if he doesn’t sign a contract extension.

The 26-year-old has played 133 games in all competitions for Hoffenheim after joining the club on a free transfer from Werder Bremen in 2017.
