Dedryck Boyata extends Hertha Berlin contract until 2024

30-year-old defender Dedryck Boyata on Thursday extended his contract with Hertha Berlin until 2024.

The Hertha captain endured a difficult season last year, missing 15 Bundesliga games through injury. Boyata remains an integral member of the squad with his expertise and leadership after being named captain last season.

Hertha BSC sporting director Fredi Bobic reacted to the news:

“Dedryck is an important player for us. He’s a leader and has a great personality, and he is integral to our plans, so we’re happy to get this deal squared away early. With his quality and experience he’s going to be a cornerstone of the squad for the next few years.”
