Max Eberl: “I’m disappointed with Marco Rose’s decision but I’m convinced he will give his all.”

Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl confirms he has no intentions to relieve head coach Marco Rose who will take charge of Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

“We held a lot of open talks over the last days and weeks,” said Eberl. “Marco has made a decision that is completely in line with his contract. I take responsibility that Marco was able to make this decision.

“Of course I’m disappointed with Marco’s decision but I’m 100 percent convinced that he will give his all to have success with the club until his last day. Therefore, there have been no considerations to remove Marco before then.

“Assistant coaches René Marić, Alexander Zickler and strength and conditioning coach Patrick Eibenberger will follow Marco Rose to Dortmund. We will therefore unveil a new coaching team in the summer.”

During the press conference, Rose also reaffirmed his commitment to Borussia Mönchengladbach as they challenge for a place in next season’s Champions League.
