Speaking after Wolfsburg’s 0-0 draw against Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, head coach Mark van Bommel praised the performance of Koen Casteels.
“Koen has improved every year,” Van Bommel told UEFA.com. “And now he’s moved up another level. With Manuel [Neuer], he’s the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga.”
The Belgian stopper has already kept four clean sheets in six games in all competitions this season, also providing an excellent save to deny Lille attacker Jonathan David on Tuesday.
